Gunilla’s Pro SkinCare Tip #2

Toners should be implemented into everyone’s skincare routine. Here are a few reasons why:

  • Toners restore the natural pH balance of skin

Cleansers can disrupt our skin’s delicate pH level. If your skin’s pH is off, you may experience inflammation, breakouts, and dryness. Toners help keep our skin nice and balanced.

  • Removes all traces of excess oil and debris from the skin after cleansing

Although cleansers remove the majority of debris from the skin, they don’t always remove everything. Toning helps to remove all traces of debris and dead skin cells left behind from cleansing.

  • Helps to tighten enlarged pores

Since toners remove dead skin cells and excess oil from the skin, pores will appear smaller after the oil is removed. Toners also help minimize the appearance of pores by tightening cell gaps after cleansing.

  • Adds a layer of protection

Since toners tighten our skin’s cell gaps after cleansing, this prevents the penetration of impurities and free radicals into the skin.

  • Adds moisture and nutrients into the skin

Depending on the ingredients in the toner, toners can act as humectants which help to retain water and moisture into the skin. For instance, our LEROSETT® Clear Skin Toner is alcohol-free and contains nourishing botanical ingredients like aloe to soothe and moisturize your skin.

**Many toners on the market contain alcohol as a main ingredient which is very harsh on the skin. When harsh ingredients like alcohol are present in skincare, they often strip the skin of everything including our natural protective oils. These protective oils, also known as our skin’s acid mantle, help to protect us from bacteria and infection. It is best to opt for a toner that has a gentle formula with ingredients to soothe the skin – not strip it.
