Jojoba oil is actually a liquid wax derived from an evergreen shrub plant that grows in areas with desert-like climates. This wax contains many essential vitamins and minerals needed for healthy hair and skin because it is very similar to the natural sebum our bodies produce. Specifically, the vitamins and minerals in jojoba oil are vitamin E, B-complex, copper, zinc, selenium, iodine, and chromium.

Jojoba oil has a variety of beauty benefits because of its moisturizing and emollient properties. Moreover, it is anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and non-toxic which makes it suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin. For this reason, jojoba oil is a very common organic ingredient in skin care products. It is packed full of mineral elements that aid in combating signs of aging such as fine lines and wrinkles and promotes natural collagen production. Powerful antioxidants contained in jojoba oil also assist in the regeneration of skin cells.

Since jojoba oil has many anti-microbial properties and non-greasy texture, it works as a great moisturizer for problem skin. In addition, it contains iodine that prevents harmful bacteria growth so it has the capabilities to naturally prevent and treat acne breakouts.

One of the many botanical ingredients in our GUNILLA® Deep Moisturizer with Ceramides is jojoba oil. This moisturizer protects the skin’s natural moisture level, replenishes lipids and infuses botanical nutrients into the skin. This rich moisturizer also contains ceramides which are naturally occurring fats that are the major structural components of the skin’s outer structure.
