Ingredient of the Week: Alpine Rose
Alpine Rose is not only a beautiful flower that grows at high altitudes in the Swiss Alps, It also has powerful youth-enhancing properties!
Its regenerative characteristics and resilience to harsh environments helps this flower flourish and thrive in extremely cold, dry surroundings. To adapt to its treacherous environment, Alpine Rose has sponge-like scales on its leaves to help limit water loss. In addition, it has the ability to synthesize protective proteins which resemble tiny sponges and helps retain water around the plant’s cell membrane.
Naturally, Alpine Rose contains stem cells, antioxidants, antiviral and polyphenolic compounds that aid in protecting it from dehydration, radicals, pathogens, as well as viruses and bacteria.
The stem cells within alpine rose have incredible regenerative properties that enable the plant to continue producing new cells throughout its lifetime. Some of these plants live up to 100 years!
These properties make it an excellent ingredient in skincare products.
